Scanxiety Roundtable

We held a roundtable yesterday with both patients and clinicians focused on scanxiety.

Scanxiety is the anxiety patients feel around imaging, both having the scan and then waiting for the result. We often see headlines about waiting lists and turnaround times, but it was sobering to hear directly from patients about what that actually means in real life. The nerves around waiting for the result, the uncertainty of who will give it and what the next steps will be and then, in some cases, repeating the same cycle every few months.

We learnt a lot and we’ll be writing up our findings and sharing them.
